Anyone know of Debbie Alsdorf? My agent, who is also Debbie’s agent, recommended her books several months ago. I did a search and found several interesting Bible studies, so I ordered a couple of her books.
Deeper: Living the Reality of God’s Love reviews Psalm 139 and makes it personal for everyday living. Debbie shares several stories that so many other women can relate to. She explains her struggles and how God pulled her out of the pit. She uses a ton of scripture, which is a must for me when I pick a book on spiritual growth. This is definitely one to add to your To-Read List!
· Our lives are meant to be about Him, not us. We were were never meant to be without blemishes or wounds.
· The enemy works hard to make women feel like they are not enough, and we believe the lie too quickly. In Christ, we ARE enough.
· We have to change our thinking about life, let go our our wrong perceptions and expectations, then view ourselves from God’s perspective, which He shares in Psalm 139. (This process takes years.)
· We have to stop striving and choose to enjoy the ordinary moments, being constantly aware of how much God adores us.
Trusting God and embracing who He made us to be takes practice. Debbie says “It’s a daily surrender, a moment by moment sacrifice, and a new way to live.”
